Backpack2school’s privacy policy describes what information we collect from you and how we use and share that information. This policy was last updated on 29 May 2020.

Personal data

Based on Article 13 of the Swiss Federal Constitution and the data protection provisions of the Swiss Confederation (Federal Act on Data Protection, FADP), every person is entitled to protection of his or her privacy and protection against misuse of his or her personal data. We comply with these provisions. Personal data is treated in strict confidence. For the registration process and the execution of the Backpack2school programs necessary data will be passed on within the Backpack2school partner network, but not passed on or sold to external third parties.

We collect your data in the following cases:

Contact forms

To process your requests, we need your name and email address so we can contact you. If you wish to be contacted by telephone, we need your telephone number and if you request documents by mail, we also need your postal address. We refer to the section ” Right of access to information”.


Name and email address will be saved for sending the Backpack2school newsletter. These newsletters were created to ensure we provide the best possible service to our community. Subscribing to our newsletter also automatically puts you on our regular mailing list, which shares intermittent updates (i.e. contests) on company-wide announcements to our community. All our newsletter subscribers Personal Information is collected and stored in the Mailchimp email marketing platform. We never share our subscriber lists with third parties or outside entities, so all subscriber Personal Information is kept confidential to our internal team. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter via a link on the newsletter page on the Backpack2school website. In addition, a link to unsubscribe is sent with every newsletter.


We use Google Forms for surveys, unless otherwise stated. For this we refer to the Privacy Policy of Google. The results of surveys are stored anonymously and are used exclusively by Backpack2school to optimize the program offers. The results of surveys for the purpose of research are shared among research partners only.  The results of surveys for research purposes are passed on anonymously to research partners. The research purpose is explicitly stated in the respective questionnaire.


We only collect the data that we need to enable you to participate in a service. If you do not give your consent, we ask for your understanding that you will not be able to participate in the respective service.

Use of information

We may use your personal information for our association activities, to improve and customize our website, to send marketing and other communications related to our association and for other legitimate purposes permitted by applicable law. Some of the ways we may use personal information are

  • Operation, improvement, promotion and protection of Backpack2school, our service and platform;
